The case laws are the laws interpreted and declared by either High Courts and Supreme Court in its judgements. The mere opinion of court expressed on stray occasions does not become law. For a given set of facts, particular law is interpreted to such given situation is very important. If the principles of law is generally stated and explained by the courts, that is also case laws. If such case laws are quoted in any arguments before a court, it is that courts duty hearing the arguments to write in judgement how such case law is relevant to the case on hand or how it is irrelevant. If such case laws are ignored by lower courts, it amounts to contempt of higher court laid down laws.
